Artist's Comments
I recently found out that Daniel Emilfork died a few months ago, last October. Sad, really . . .
Even though he wasn't all that well-known outside of non-English speaking Europe, Mr. Emilfork had a distinctive face and accent that made him an ideal typecast for villians. Seriously, there is no mistaking this guy. He was (and is) genuinely creepy and terrifying. I bloody love him. Cite Des Enfants Perdus (City of Lost Children) is one of my very favourite films, so I've painted him as he appears in the role of Krank, a mad scientist who is incapable of dreaming and thus steals children in hopes of extracting their dreams for himself. . . . Eugh, that dream-helmet = NO. I am not a tech artistist -_- Anyway, RIP Monsieur Emilfork. We miss you. I do, at any rate -_- Ink washes and white paint The character, Krank belongs to messrs. Marc Caro et Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Daniel Emilfork belongs to himself. Or did. I really do not know O_O |
