I'm . . . a trifle nervous about putting this up on DA, honestly. I hope it won't offend (after all, chariacatures are often not entirely flattering representations of the subject), because I have nothing but utter respect and admiration for this person . . .

I'm sure a great many of you have heard of Nick Pitera and have seen his amazing videos on Youtube (if you haven't, you are a sad sack and really must hop to it and look him up!). I'd hoped that after the "Give Us Your Voice" contest, he'd keep at it and gain some much-deserved attention. Having seen the recent newsclip featuring his work, I'm happy to say he did not disappoint, and I wanted to commemorate that.

For the past year, Nick has been a source of inspiration for me, though he probably does not know it. He graduated this year, and had I not failed out of Computer Animation and been held back a year, we'd have been in the same graduating class. The failure was, admittedly a huge blow to me, but to see people like him following their dreams and staying true to themselves, it gives me hope. I'm not sure Nick even knew who I was whilst we were at school together, but I'll forever be thankful to him for giving me that hope.

. . . And on the off-chance that Nick does see this/read this, I do hope he won't find it incredibly creepy and stalkery of me I do, however, want him to know how very much he has inspired me to keep holding onto my own dreams, though they seem lost sometimes. Congratulations on everything, Nick, and the best of luck to you! (not that you need it )
